Environment award for ResourceBank Telford

ResourceBank Telford Eco-team wins a BESST Award

Congratulations are in order this week for the ResourceBank Telford environment team who were delighted to receive a Highly Commended Award from the Telford BESST (Business Environmental Support Scheme).  The award was presented to Angela Haden and Mica Daly-Smith by Will Stratton-Morris, CEO of Caffe Nero at the annual awards event at the Park House Hotel in Shifnal this week:

The award reflected the effort of the ResourceBank team (also including Alex Daly-Smith and Saskia Hamilton) to clean up the beach at Barmouth on a sunny day in September.  The taken was taken by the team as their paid charity day (every ResourceBank employee can have one day a year fully paid working on the charity project of their choice).   The team removed several huge bags of rubbish including “several nappies, BBQ grills, baby wipes, shoes, a load of empty snack packets and some things too terrible to mention!”

At the awards ceremony, Andy Whyle, Chairman and Sustainability Specialist at Ricoh, provided an overview of how BESST develops and shares best practice for environmental awareness and Will Stratton-Morris explained how Caffe Nero continually invest in their farmers, communities, employees and customers and embrace sustainability.

See below some of the photos from the beach clean and well done to Ang, Mica, Saskia, Alex (and of course Banksy the ResourceBank bear)!
