Job loss fears as end of furlough scheme in sight
With the Government Coronavirus Job Retention Scheme due to end in September, new information has come to light that shows the scale of job losses that may accompany the end of furlough.
Although the scheme has been credited with slowing the rate of job losses over recent months, financial insights company Red Flag Data has estimated that just over 270,000 people may find themselves unemployed come September as companies strive to cut costs.
Redundancy not only impacts the lives and wellbeing of those directly affected, but can have a detrimental effect on the managers and HR personnel responsible for delivering the difficult news.
This is where an outplacement service provider can help. Having an experienced partner who can give expert advice not only to your HR team but provide workshops and 1-1 coaching to employees transitioning in their careers.
Last year we joined forces with Next Steps Consulting to create Next Steps Outplacement , combining the executive, management consulting and coaching expertise of Next Steps with the operational and recruitment experience and knowledge of ResourceBank.
In the six months since the partnership began, we have successfully supported a cross section of people from engineers through to senior partners working within the legal sector. Our services have been adapted to be virtually accessible during Covid and we have had great feedback.
As well as one to one support, we can run workshops and CV surgeries. All employees have access to an online suite of advice including interview tips and techniques, networking, and looking after mental health during a job search. Our packages are bespoke and can be tailored to your company’s needs.
