ResourceBank supports appeal for better mental health services

Sunday 10th October is World Mental Health Day and with rising numbers of people seeking support, it’s becoming apparent that access to help from professionals is no where near the levels needed to meet demand.

In June this year a group of ResourceBank employees completed the Virtual Vitality London 10,000 event, with 15 of us joining thousands of others across the country to run, walk or jog 10k.

Around the same time, we were made aware of a GoFundMe appeal to help raise money for more mental health support in our area. This sadly came about due to the loss of a local man to suicide who struggled to obtain the support he needed as no help was available at weekends.

The appeal aims to raise enough money to fund the salary of a mental health specialist to offer support at the weekends for a whole year, giving people access to support every day of the week.

ResourceBank decided to donate not only the cost of our entry fees to the Vitality London event to the appeal but to match the amount and double it meaning we were able to donate £570 towards the cause.
